PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS is a fibrinogen-depleted and heparin-free Serum Replacement Supplement of EU origin. As a xeno-free and easy-to-use cell culture supplement, ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS supports the efficient and safe in vitro expansion of various primary cells and cell lines.Due to a unique fibrinogen-depletion technique,ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS is a clot-free and heparin-free Serum Replacement Supplement. The product neither requires the addition of anticoagulants (e.g. heparin) in cell culture nor during manufacturing. That makes ELAREM™Perform-FD PLUS a ready-to-use Serum Replacement Supplement that is widely applicable, since the absence of heparin offers even more convenient cell growth conditions. PREPARATION OF CELL CULTURE MEDIUM 1. Thaw ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS in a 37°Cwater bath until completely thawed. 2. Particles or turbidity may appear in thawedELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS, but do not affect cell culture performance. If particles are disturbing, we recommend centrifugation of pureELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS at 3.400 x g for3-5 minutes. 3. Prepare complete cell culture medium by adding10% (v/v) ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS to basal medium (e.g. MEM α, DMEM), together with2 mM L-glutamine, if not included, and antibiotics, if required. ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUSis heparin-free and does not require the additionof heparin. Please note: Final concentration of ELAREM™Perform-FD PLUS in cell culture medium canvary depending on cell type and experimentalconditions. It is recommended to determine theoptimal concentration – between 1% and 10%(v/v) – for the cells of interest.4. Complete cell culture medium can be stored at4°C and is stable for up to 2 weeks. STORAGE AND STABILITY ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS is stable until the expiry date stated on the label. ELAREM™ Perform-FDPLUS is most stable when stored frozen at -20°C to-40°C until use.Upon thawing, it is recommended to aliquot and refreeze samples of unused ELAREM™ Perform-FDPLUS. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles of ELAREM™Perform-FD PLUS should be avoided.Once thawed, ELAREM™ Perform-FD PLUS can bestored at 4°C up to 7 days.
