Product Overview:
L-glutamine is an essential amino acidrequired for cell culture growth. The normal concentration of L-glutamine inmedia is 292 mg/L or 2 mM. L-glutamine is not stable for long periods of timeunless it is frozen. The material should be aliquoted to smaller volumes andthen frozen. The stability of L-glutamine in culture medium is primarilydependent on the temperature at which it is stored. Lonza test data forlong-term storage indicates that the L-glutamine concentration is reduced byapproximately 2-3% per month in tissue culture medium stored at 2◦C-8◦C.However, basal medium containing L-glutamine supports cell growth for up to 24months when stored in refrigerated conditions.
